Homemade Swaybar Disconnects (4x4xplor)

Anybody run the ones on 4x4xplor's website? Comments, opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Buy my home made ones
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=596948

I made my first set similar to those and they worked, then went with the ones I listed above. Now I bought a lift kit and some were included with it so I am running those.

I run the exact set listed on the site. I bought what was listed and it works perfectly...no problems yet. I actually bought about 3 or 4 clevis pins and extra washers and cotter pins to keep in my toolbox just in case....I still think I only spent $10-$12 at the hardware store.

I made a set of the disconnects, but the are very noisy while on road. Mine stay disco'd full time now. I got tired of hearing them.

Were yours noisy too? Its my daily driver and I have a feeling it would drive me crazy if they were loud.

I have never heard mine at all. I am running an '01 TJ Sport and bought the exact sizes listed in the write up. Mine is a daily driver as well.

I took mine off two weeks ago when I installed the FT 3" lift because the lift package came with a set.

After 11 months of using the homemade set there wasn't any real wear, although one of the big washers bent a little due to my misaligned sway bar. They weren't noisy at all. The FT quick discos are a big improvement. I can actually manipulate them by hand - the homemade ones I needed a pair of pliers to get the pins in and out.

Not a bad experience for less than ten bucks. I wouldn't run them on a permanent basis but it was a good placeholder until the real set came in.

They inevitably egg out the holes on the axle bracket a little bit although once you get real ones where the lower link bolts on, its a moot issue. It's a very sh!t solution though.

I ran them for 2 years also---no problems. I did weld the washer to the head of the clevis pin just to be on the safe side.

Mine rattled like a bytch, and we're a PITA to get off/on, even on level ground. I just broke down and bought some JKS Quicker Discos, which are 1,000 times easier to deal with. A case of getting what you pay for IMHO. Sure, you can make them for 10.00, but it was almost easier just removing the end link bolt and reattaching it when done wheelin for me until I got my discos.
