Homemade rocker panels

anyone ever made rocker panels. i have diamond plate but am not sure how to cut it exactly with a smooth edge.
any suggestions??

You should probably bend it. It should be a 90* angle.

My little brther made "faux rocker guards" for his YJ. We just cut them with a grinder, sanded, and painted. They were aluminum diamond plate, pretty thick stuff. We then riveted them to the sides and called it quits.

I would suggest bending them 90degrees if possible to provide some real underside protection aside from the astetics.

If you have a jig saw, put on a fine metal cutting blade. Clamp a board or anything else long and straight onto the steel so the zigsaw fence rubs up against it during your cut. Keep the saw against the wood and you will have a straight cut. Just an idea, thats how I cut straight on panels.

i was thinking of getting two pieces of sheet metal an cut em down a bit an rivet them together. thats only cuz i got the tools an materials at my mechanics school lol
