if anyone is curious, the 1.5" x 1.5" x 16ga tube was $17 for 24 feet. the 2" tube was left over from an old job as was the exp metal. the tube caps were 25 cents each. i will have the drawing in acad format soon if anyone wants a (free) copy

That's pretty nice.

I like the fact that you have bulletproof lights on a paper thin bumper.

that's a great idea for hauling luggage to-and-from the airport...

Have you figured out how much weight it can hold, yet?

between my son and i, we weigh 425lbs. we both set on the outermost rail and bounced with no problem. the big problem is the hitch that i bought only bolts to the 18ga channel that runs from frame rail to frame rail. however, when i replaced the bumper it left me 2 tapped hole in the frame 3" back from the c channel. i burned 2 pcs of .25 plate and welded them to the hitch crossbar then drilled them to match the 2 tapped holes in the frame. without that mod i would have twisted the c channel on the frame

Looks like a nice setup. Be careful of things getting shaken up. I've had a cooler on the back of my jeep and after wheeling, bottles were broken, breakfast sausage was turned into patte - all over everything else. It was a mess.

Since the rack is past your rear axle, bumps will be magnified.

My ideal cooler setup will be a system that rides in the back of the roll cage, suspended in the air with bungee bands to absorb all bumps.

But all that aside, good work and nice storage rack.
