Larger as in larger than a 4 Cyl. Jeep; bigger engine, big tires, maybe a moderate lift. Not as in larger than that monster truck BoogieMan posted. Not sure why you're laughing though. I said the 4 Cyl will "go" and keep up in the same places in the mud if you know what you're doing, not that the 4 Cyl will outperform a V6 or V8. That being said, most trucks like what BoogieMan posted never see mud around here and always have a pretty paint job in the parking lot (even if they're not street legal) so they never really crossed my mind as a factor and with the OP being 16 I doubt people he wheels with have trucks that require that much time and investment.

It will keep up with alot of money invested. I have had 4 cyl lifted Jeeps and even regeared to 4.56 with 33 inch no traction tires they bog down in 4LO 1st gear in the real nasty mud where I had to ride the clutch to keep from stalling (which is a bad idea).... Unless you do an axle swap and can gear into the 5.XX range I have a hard time believing you doing anything worth bragging about.

Where were you wheeling that you bogged down in 4low and in 1st gear on 33's with 4.56 gears?

It happened in Virginia, Michigan, Florida, and Alabama to name a few states.

I just so happen to live in Virginia! Point me in the right direction! I'm always looking for more challenging obstacles that I don't have to drive so far away to play on. Tomorrow myself and a group of friends are going to go play in some nice sticky VA swamp mud on a friends land.. it's pretty knarly mud, and has already claimed a U-joint on a D30 front end running 35's...

A friend of mine runs a 4 cyl with 35" tires, regeared, 44's front n rear, and he goes everywhere any other Jeep goes. When it came time for a new motor he went ahead and rebuilt the 4cyl. He uses lots of rev's to get it where he wants it to go.

I've got no argument against that.
