HID Headlight Install

After doing a little research on here I found that there were a lot of questions on this subject. So I decided I would go this route for a little extra light.
I purchased this HID kit- http://www.vvme.com/standard-h439003-bixenon-hid-kit-p-9.html?cPath=44_46_35
And I bought the IPF housing from here. Make sure you order two.

This is a super easy install; it is all plug and play. First, start with the driver’s side and take the three screws out of the headlight bezels, next take the four screws out of the silver ring holding the headlight in place. Now unplug the wires from the back of the headlight, I then wrapped the plug with electrical tape, as you will not use it for the HID install. Now install the HID bulb into the back of the IPF housing and clip the wire to hold the bulb in. There is a lock and unlock feature in the HID bulb itself, twist it counter clockwise to the unlock position and remove the actual HID bulb from the housing. Be careful to not touch the bulb and slide the rubber boot that comes with the IPF's over the hid. Line up the HID bulb with the unlock position and install the bulb back into its housing which is already in the IPF housing. This can be a little tricky but there is nothing to it. Run your wires attached to bulb out the back so you can get to them later on to plug them into the ballast. Repeat this process for the passenger side, but do not wrap the stock plug with tape, plug it into the plug that is attached to the HID relay. Run the longest wire with plugs on the end across the front of your radiator behind the grill to the driver’s side ballast and plug it in. Now run the wire with the fuse attached to it to the positive terminal on the battery and attach it. Next, run the only wire you have left on the relay to the ballast on the passenger side and plug it in. Now ground the terminals to the same place the stock headlights are ground to, this is directly behind the headlights. And finally run the wire from the ballast to the bulb and plug in the 3 connectors to each other. Leave your bezels off until it gets dark and find you a wall to adjust each headlight. When you’re done take a test drive and make sure they are where you want them and you are not blinding other drivers.

I did not have one person flip there bright lights on at me. So I think I have mine were they need to be. Hopefully anyone who was interested in this will find these directions a little helpful. Here are some pictures after I got everything zip tied up and positioned where I wanted them.

I was looking at these kits just the other day and have read alot of post on here about HID lighting.Question I have is why didn't you get this: http://www.vvme.com/5055w-h439003-bixenon-hid-kit-p-31.html?cPath=44_46_35 or this kit http://www.vvme.com/digital-slim-h439003-bixenon-hid-kit-p-128.html?cPath=44_46_35 Also for the people who did this upgrade are you still glad you did.

To those with HIDs installed: are those units sealed? I would like to do this in the future, but don't want to install something that will fill up with water and die if I accidentally get that deep into a water crossing.

Be very careful with the wife mod. Uninstallation can be extremely expensive. Wife mods have been known to take the Jeep and all other mods during the uninstall process. Also, make sure you service your wife mod properly as often as humanly possible. Wife mods not properly serviced may malfuction or uninstall themselves at any time.

Here is the Passenger's side picture if someone want to try and make it work, by the way thanks for the help.

Dieselcrackel-I just went with the cheapest kit, I guess the only differrence between mine and the first one is that mine is 35watts and that one is 50-55watts. The second one will work also, I just didnt want to pay more for the slim ballast.
Noturmailman-I had a set of these HIDs on my Polaris Rzr and I did not have any problems with water. The only issue I could see being a problem is where the bulb goes into the back of the IPF's. I could be wrong but if I start having a problem with moisture I am going to but a little high temp rtv around them. On the Rzr I just used some di-electric grease on the inside of all the connections, and put a little rtv around the outside for extra measures.
