Help out the noob please, do I have a lockable trunk?

I bought my '01 TJ used, so I was never able to talk with the original owner about much..

Did '01's have the option for the lockable trunk? Is this it?? Or is this my gas can maybe??? I wasn't sure.

Thanks,

I was going to say something mean, but then I read "Chicago" and now I understand why you are so confused...

That first picture is umm, your gas tank skid plate. It protects the gas tank.

You don't have a lockable trunk... it is something that sits behind the rear seat.

It looks something like this

or (on a JK, but similiar concept...)

This website has tons of good information on it, and just use the forum search feature to learn about anything! Good luck with your new Jeep

That is not a lockable trunk. The first picture is of the gas tank, well the skidplate at least. The second pic is just your tub. The footman loops are there for a cargo net that probably came stock with your Jeep. Check some after market sites for a lockable trunk.

Well, that looks like the gas tank skid plate. That should protect the gas tank when you're off the road.

Go - Da Bears!

Edit: You should check out Tuffy's metal locking trunk.

Thanks "JeepGuy" for holding back. OP, we don't learn if we don't ask questions.

Your gas tank is between the 2 pictures. The floor pan and gas tank skid.

Welcome to Jeeping.

thats a stock TJ gas tank skid. i believe its only 1/16 or 1/8 of an inch thick. AKA if you wanna do some moderate wheeling you might wanna look into an aftermarket skid plate.

i dont mean to sound hypocritical b/c i dont have one haha.... yet
