Help me.... AC/Heat controls

Ok so in the process of replacing my heater core and not paying attention last year I broke the part where the little red tab slips in on the temperature slide control. I have ben manually moving the know. Wel I had also busted the heater box but anyway. Just put a new box and a control swith with the AC on it too. The Jeep did not come with AC ( other then to remove the top smart a$$es) Well now I have air that will not come out of anything but the defrost no matter where I move it???? Any ideas?

There is no test and that is most likely the problem.Check the vacuum lines from above the manifold and under the battery(thin black plastic),then check the colored lines behind the glove box and A/C controls.Even a crack in the line would cause that.

defrost is the default when there is a problem somewhere along the line. i know that doesnt help much but if you were wondering why you only had defrost

Are you working on it with the motor running? Cause I think to have the vacuum working and able to switch from defrost to floor or anything the motor has to be running.
