It should be pretty straight forward. Two bolts to take off the old one and then put the new one in. Go spray those bolts now though.

the bolt in the sway bar might be tough to get out. i had to heat up around it and use a punch and big hammer after that no problem.

You can probably get an RE or OME one that doesn't require one of those brackets for about 30-50.........just fyi

My skyjacker one came with extra hardware also. I think It was in case you are using it with an aftermarket steering setup. I think it's also in case you are installing a second one, but I'm not sure.

Are your brackets two "u" shaped brackets that could potentially clamp onto the drag link? As long as you have the tapered bolt that slips into the drag link, you should be good.

Just keep in mind that when you do get to install it, that bolt in the drag link can be really stuck. You can either use a puller or a really big hammer, your choice.

why do they suck? because you can't figure out how to install it? they didn't make it.

look on Skyjackers site and search the part # on the box they sent you and make sure its the correct one. if its not then they suck, but if its the correct part #..........its not their fault.

you only posted this a couple of hours ago, its saturday, people are out doing stuff. be patient.

try this:

Just to ad another comment here...I've been happy with everything I've got from Skyjacker but their directions are aweful. The steering stabilizer didn't even have directions. Everything from a TC linkage bracket to a 2"BB to the stabilizer couldn't possibly be installed from their instructions alone.

That's why this forum is great.

ARe you SURE they sent you the wrong part?
1. Check to see if the parts you got include the tapered stud that goes into the drag link. (Hint, it looks like the one on your jeep.) If it does, you simply don't use the U-bolts and you got the right kit. The pic below is what it should look like. If your shock has a stud instead an eye, either have them find the correct one for a TJ, or return it for different brand, or you can use the bracket and U-bolts...
If not,
2. Check to see if there is actually a separate part number for TJ fitment and "universal" fitment.
3. IF so, then see if the part number you got is a "unversal" kit.
4. Then, check to see what part number YOU ordered.
Then you'll know if they are wrong or you are wrong.

Instructions??!!
Oh....kay....There's a bolt at the axle end. Remove it.
There's a stud through the drag link. Loosen the nut a good bunch, whack the stud/nut with a BFH, and remove.
Install the new part the same as the old.
Kinda self explanatory if you just look at it...
