Help! Brackets on for soft top

I bought a 98 TJ that only came with a hard top. I bought a soft top for it and it came with brackets that fit onto the back of the roll bar. There doesn't seem to be guide holes for it or anything so I'll need to drill some I guess. I don't even know which way is up when it comes to these brackets. Any tips and tricks are appreciated.

Thanks.

Soft top brackets...

Holes should be there and they should be threaded.

As far as orientation... see attached photo.

The holes should be there and threaded. I haven't seen a Jeep without them.

unzip the padding and look in the area where the "button hole slits" are.
