Heating/AC vent question

When i turn on the air, it will blow fine for a few seconds and then it sounds like its getting blocked and no air will come out for a while and then it will start coming out like normal. Anyone else had this problem? Do i just need to take the dash apart and clean out the vents?

Well for the first time since owning my jeep the air is blowing out the vents normally right now. Usually the air gets blocked about 10 seconds after turning the air on.

Stranger things have happened, it will more than likely return.

Old thread, but yes, the air starts coming out of the defroster when it stops blowing out the vents.

Do a search on this. There is a couple of really good threads on this telling you what to test, where to look, and where to get the parts to fix. A lot of us have had this problem. Mine was a bad vacum elbow under my battery tray. I think most of them had issues with an actuator arm connect. Either way it was a pretty easy fix.
