Heater settings acting all wierd and hear clunk sounds when driving

hey everyone, i was thinking of posting this in the other larger air problem thread but didnt feel like hyjacking it since my problem doesnt entirely fall into one of those from what i read

it happened probably sometime this spring or so but stopped noticing the issue in the summer since i dont have to defrost or anything, now with the colder mornings i can see the problem pretty easily.

most of the settings i select work at level 1 or 2, for example if i put it on face it goes to face, but if i put it on 3 or 4 i hear this clunk as if a door inside the tubes closed unexpectedly really quick and it shoots the air out a different vent. i hear this randomly while driving also depending on how windy it is

i can also select heat/cold and that does work fine

any help would be great cause its a real big problem driving to work in the mornings and its getting colder too lol

im thinking it could be a vacuum leak not holding certain doors closed or opening but have no idea where to go looking

thanks
