Web Wheeler | When you replaced the hoses did you try flushing the core? It might be clogged. That would prevent coolant from flowing through it. __________________ "Giving English to an American is like giving sex to a child. He knows it's important but he doesn't know what to do with it." Try putting a little compressed air on one side and see if it comes out unrestricted. I flushed my heater core multiple times and thought I got it clear, when I put compressed air on one side it would build pressure, which told me it was still clogged. I ended up having to change out the heater core with a new one. Hope this helps. __________________ 1997 TJ. 4.0, 5spd. 4" Lift, 33" MTR's, 4.10 f/r with posi in rear, KC Slimlites, Hi-lift Jack. Registered User | I had the same problem with my heater core. Water would go through (clear and clean) but still no heat. I did the air trick also since the rubber boot on the end of my air gun was a perfect fit on the outlet side of the heater core fitting. Gave it a quick blast and couldn't believe the crap that came out. So I did it again. Then flushed again with water. I also noticed a low flow in my outlet hose and found a small blockage where it clips on the side of the valve cover and cleaned that out. Heat is blasting out now!!! |

Registered User | In that case, you might as well do it all at once. You can feel the hoses that go to and from the heater core. If they are hot, it's getting water. Trust me, a clear heater core will burn your feet if you leave it on too long. The parts are pretty cheap. You could prob get a heater core and evap core for about $100. Then, you just got to set aside a whole day for the work. |

Registered User | Thats the thing Neither of my hoses going to my heater core are getting hot. Thats whats throwing me the input hose off the water pump should atleast be getting hot. |

Registered User | If it's FULLY plugged up, it won't get hot. It would be "dead headed" and therefor wouldn't see any of the hot water from the coolant system. Are the hoses tight (as if they're pressurized)? You're heater core might be fully clogged. This may seem like a stupid question, but is your water pump pumping water? Do your radiator hoses feel like there's water moving in them? Could be a bad water pump. Weirder things have happened, but the heater cores are a more likely suspect. This is a VERY simple fluid system. Even if you installed the thermostat in backwards, it will still work. Either the hoses are kinked, the pump is not pumping or the heater core is clogged up. I hope this helps. |

Registered User | Yeah i can pinch my radiator hose going into my radiator and can hear water rushing past so the water pump has to be working i guess its the heater core. I just don't see why i can run water so easily through it with a hose Its a little over 200 bucks for parts guess ill just order them and set aside a day thanks for all your help |

Registered User | Is the system full of water? If it's not completely full, it won't have enough to make it to the heater core. With the system cool, take off the radiator cap and see where the level is at. |

Jeep was about $270 and after market was $80. I went with the cheaper one. When I received it, the box said Made In China. I installed it anyway and guess what I get to do again. Yes that is right the new one is leaking. I am never going to go for cheaper parts again, it is just not worth it. Please do yourself a favor and get the good stuff. Tom |
