why does my heater/fan only work on the highest setting and not the three lower fan speeds? it worked fine until about a month ago and one day i got in and it only works on high

also if anyone knows, why wouldnt the control to change between say window defroster and vent or floor only work?..no matter what setting mine is on it only blows from the window defroster and the floor at the same time..when i move the switch i can hear "things movin around in there"..dont know if thats good or bad.. thanks

i would say the blower motor resistor has gone bad. thats why the fan only works on the highest seed. but as far as the position control that sounds like a totally different issue. check your fuses/relays too.

I had similar issues with my '01 and I replaced the control box and that took care of it. (they don't sell individual switches, just the whole thing, $85 dealer)

I have a different fan issue. mine works on 1,2 and 4. Only the 3rd speed is inop. Can the resistor board cause this or is it the switch?

is the resistor a dealer item or do they sell it at like advance auto or can it be repaired?..also about how much $ are they?
