Heat not blowing as hot this winter

Just exactly as the title says. I've never had any trouble with my heat/ac, but this winter, it either takes 20 minutes of driving for it to heat up, or it only heats up to about half of what it used to. I know some of you will have suggestions. Thanks!

Check your coolant level first. After that, I'm afraid I can't help.

Check the linkages to the mixer control- I see that coming up alot-and/or vacuum issues that are used to control the blend door. On mine, I've plucked 10 redpine needles and 6 basswood seeds out of the squirrel cage-- I can't believe they even got in there, but there they were.- I don't know about yours, but when I reach up just behind the dash at the far right, I can feel the air heading for the blend door. I can at least tell if the outside door is shut or not.
Good Luck!

Is the engine temp coming up to normal and little heat from the heater or is the engine temp low also?

x2 on the new thermostat. that has always fixed that prob for me, they are about $5 and its easy and the least mess. I'd start with that and work from there. Once you're done with the thermo install let the engine get warm with the rad cap off for a while to make sure the air gets out. hth
