Headlight Won't Stay On

Over the last week I've been having some trouble with my Jeep's headlight not staying on. I'll pull the nob and the lights will come on, but sometimes after a few minutes they'll go back off but the marker lights will remain on. Sometimes jiggling the headlight nob will make them come back on. I suspect the problem is in the switch, but I'm not certain. How does one trouble shoot this kind of problem? Specific suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I know next to nothing about electronics.

I would start with a simple inspection of the contacts at the switch. Clean and connect it again and see if it helped.

If it still doesn’t work, you will need to check the relay.

Things have since gotten worse. Originally I just had a hard time getting the headlights on, now the marker lights, the dash display, and the dome lights won't come on when the headlight switch is in the appropriate positions. The brake lights work when I depress the brake pedal and the dome light comes on when the door is open, so I know the wiring to them is good. I'm ganna swing by the local pick-n-pull and grab a switch off a Dodge Neon ('98 Dodge Neons and Jeep Cherokee headlight switches are the same part number as '98 TJs).
