Is having a D35 in the front bad?

I know how bad the D35 is in the rear, but would it be bad to ahve one in the front?

I am looking at Jeep with ARBs in the front & rear with a D44 in the rear and a D35 in the front. Just wondering if the D35 would hold up as well as a D30 does.

I am not going for extreme rock crawling...but I would kit up some 3 Diamond trails at most.

Must be a misprint. The guy has it listed as a D44 rear and a D35 front. He must have meant a D30.

Haha...I would say that not being able to steer is a bad thing.

Thats what the guy wrote in the Craiglist ad. He has a ton of stuff done to it and he defeinitely knows what he is talking about. So I am guessing that its a typo.

I just didnt know if there was some other type of setup that I have never heard of.

The only "front" Dana 35s were put into Ford Ranger, Bronco II, and Explorers. All were between 1983 and 1999.

The original front Dana 35 was a TTB (twin traction beam design). Kinda like an early version of IFS. The later front Dana 35s were IFS.

So to the OP, no the IFS or TTB version of the Dana 35 would not work out as well as a D30 front. If you want bigger then find a D44.
