I don't know what they're worth but I have the spare factory D35 shafts in my garage, too, ever since I switched to the 27 spline alloy shafts. The originals have been dragged along as trail spares when I've gone out on longer Jeep runs.

Whatever they are worth, I'll include them with my D35 axle when I sell it after I swap in my Rubi D44 in the next couple months.

Dana 30 Detroit soft locker, Yukon shafts, spicer u-joints, 35" pitbull rockers. Doing a little snow wheeling and it got real bad. The locker was a little over two years old with a couple trips to Moab and several trips in the Elbe hills.

I'd probably be willing to give my Dana 35 axle shafts away for free if someone came to the house with a good story (and maybe a broken axle shaft).

When I bought my '99 TJ (used) it had 115,000 miles. The spider gears and bearings where shot! It ran fine, and made no noises, but when I pulled the pods to replace the fluids, the fluid looked like silver metalic yuck! There were big chunks of the spider gears (and not so big chunks) floating around in there for some time. Not something you want to find after the initial purchase

I blew up my dana30 pulling out a toyota. I was running 33 boggers at the time and it was locked with an aussie locker otherwise stock.

Blew a r&p in my ZJ stock everything 3.73 gears CV axles. Just going through dried up mud pit. Snapped a cv shaft in a pretty bad stuck about 2 years ago, and recently snapped another axle shaft, and upper CA in half about a month ago on an easy hill climp with no rocks, and no bouncing. I've got an HP30 waiting for alloys, truss, WJ knuckles, and 4.88s.

I have NEVER broken anything on the D35, and never seen anyone who has broken one before.

i saw a 35 with 31's break on a mild obstacle, the guy wasn't working it that hard and the shaft snapped.

i sold my 35 i took out of mine to a guy that broke his 35 on the street. he was driving on ice and hit a dry patch, and snapped an axle.

Did you pull him out in reverse from the front bumper-towhooks? If so... that is about the most stress one can place on a front axle.

I have a HP30 that is probably close to 10 years old... it has Warn shafts, hubs, CTM's and a Vanco brake set-up. I run 35's in mainly rocks.... smoked a hub once and trashed some steering linkage but otherwise, it's been pretty reliable. I think set-up us the key, not jumping the truck and keeping my foot out of the skinny pedal in the mud and sand is what keeps it alive.

x2 I broke my Dana 44 with stock 3.73 gears, 33s, and no locker. I would hate to have seen how long a 35 would have lasted.
