Hardtop Headliner??
Hey Everyone,
Just got a 99 Wrangler with a hardtop and am wondering if there is any way to get a headliner for the OEM hardtop? I used to have a Bestop hardtop on an older Jeep that had a headliner and would like to get one on my new Jeep. Thanks for any help.

i made my own...
i know a few people have followed stu olsen's way of doing it: buy outdoor carpeting, cut it to size, and glue it to the top... i wanted to try something for insulation, but didn't want the rough out door carpeting. i also didn't want it to be glued to the top, in case i didn't like it. i went to the fabric store and bought some arctic fleece type material.. i also got some of that adhesive velcro strips..... cut it to size, apply velcrow strips along edges of hard top, and to edges of fabric.... stick it up there.... looks great, and is soft. i plan to put a bungee type netting along the front portion as well, to toss things like my cell phone or whatever up there..... here's the link to stu's site and his headliner project http://www.stu-offroad.com/body/ht/hardtop-1.htm |

I've got it in mine, but it was in there when I bought the jeep. Looks to be a foam of some sort, 1" thick or so, with a fleece type material wrapped around it, then glued to the top. I love it.. it's warm and soft, great for the frigid winters up here.

I plan on doing mine at some point...
I'm thinking: Hard Top Glue Heat Shield material Glue Cloth of some description And perhaps try and get some metal strips bent to shape to serve as trim around the windows. Only question is - what glue should I be using that can stand up to the intense heat I'm gonna get in the summer? |
