Hanson tire carrier

Anyone out there have a Hanson tire carrier setup on their Tj? I have one with the top basket and side Jerry can holders. How are you securing your cans? I don't want to go the tie down route. Any suggestions would be great.

Well, I started to fab up some straps to hold down the jerry cans. If I can figure out how to post pics, I will post some up. Hope this will help someone with this setup.

Upload the pics to an image hosting website. I use photobucket. You can't post them yourself until you have a post count of 50+, but if you put up the IMG tags, someone can post them for you.

Backside pic, strap hooks into slit made into bottom of metal rail. Welded hook to metal flat stock. Bends were done in bench vise and metal brake bought from Harbor Freight. I bent round portion by bending around a piece of 2" pipe. Keeping everything in a straight plane was tough.
