Half door bushings
The bushings on my 03 sport half doors are shot. The door no longer shuts easily, and I notice that the remnants of the bushing are hanging off the door pin. Can anyone reccomend a vendor that might stock replacement door bushings? THANKS!

I wish someone had an answer for this one, because I REALLY need bushings as well. I can't find them in Quadratec, and I thought they had everything!

Have either of you considered calling the stealership?

Come on man.....That's too easy. I know there is some one that make door bushing that will improve my break over angle or turn my doors into a recovery point.

I don't know about the OP, but yeah, I did. Their service hours are not even close to compatible with my work schedule, so I was hoping to order them online. Also, I try to stay away from the stealership as much as possible. |

I just got off the phone with both dealerships in Las Vegas. According to them, there are NO bushings for a 1/2 door hinge on a 93 YJ. Super.

My drivers door bushing went bad a few years ago so I asked a friend who is a mechanic for a Jeep dealership to look them up for me. They did not have a replacement bushing listed and want you to buy a new hinge set, which were a couple of hundred some odd dollars. His recommendation was to just buy aftermarket hinges they are much cheaper. I still havn't fixed it yet and all that is worse is my door seel is torn from rubbing on the hard top when it closes. However having no bushings makes taking the doors off way easier!

Maybe this will work. I found this posting on wranglerforum. "there are bushings that come as part of the "world cab" set up. my 94 renegade has them too. part number is j804 2193. parts manual shows 4 each per door. dealers should be able to order them. might help with the door sag along with well placed washers." I have a call into 4WD Hardware and I have my fingers crossed. If I locate them, I will certainly post.
Also, check this thread Sagging Door/Hinge Question - Jeep Wrangler Forum Last edited by Obcean2; 02-10-2010 at 12:48 PM.. |

So here is what I learned. I am not sure how useful this is. The guy at 4WD Hardware said there is no bushing for the hinge. If your door won't shut/line up with the striker, hang the door from one hinge only and whack the hell out of it with a rubber mallet, then do the same to the other hinge. Sounds like a highly technical job to me. Meanwhile, my stupid door still sags. Now where is my mallet?
