H4 headlight options
I am the proud owner of a 06 yellow Rubicon and psyched about it. I've done some research and realized that I would like to upgrade the headlights to something like the IPF H4 conversions. I have some questions though.
1. IPF H4 Conversions - are most people going with the magic Js or the Fat Boys? Is there much of a difference? Do I need to upgrade the wiring harness for either? I've read about the harness upgrade if lights burn "hotter" except the Fatboys claim to draw the same power (55W/60W), so are they actually hotter? 2. Has anyone used/seen the Delta H4 conversions? I'm just looking to get a better beam pattern and whiter ligths. I'd do a search but it's down and I know this has been discussed before. Thanks for the help!!

I had Deltas...the lights they come with are OK........but the fatboys I swapped in where brighter.
THEN......I went to IPF E-codes, Fatboys and a harness........by far the best setup yet.

I put in the IPF's yesterday with the fatboys and they seem pretty bright. Easy to install but $140. I'm just wondering how long they will last. Way better than stock though.

I've got the Majic J bulbs(much brighter than stock), then swapped them out for some other bulbs - whiter light, not as bright. But I saw Rampage has some nice lamps - clear glass lens should let alot of light through. Anyone have them? I'm interested

I have the h4's and some fatboys and they make a BIG difference over stock. I haven't upgraded my wiring harness and wondering if it is worth spending the $$$.
Anyone want to chime in??

after doing some research it looks like im going to go with the roundeyes conversion.
the beam pattern on it is really an improvement, and it doesnt require the harness upgrade. here is a link to the difference http://www.reno4x4.com/articles/roundeyestjheadlights/

The IPF's do not require the harness upgrade either.

Voltage = Current * Resistance and Power = Voltage * Current So, if we take the standard 12-14V from your battery/alternator and divide that into lets say 60 watt bulbs, we'd have around 4-5 amps of current per bulb ... need to ensure you are fused on that circuit for 10 amps at a minimum. kk ... class dismissed ... ![]()
