Hella's are pretty well liked. I'm running the Cibié e-code conversion, though they're harder to find. Stick with those and you wont go wrong.

JP magazine also did a round-up a few months back. If I remember, one of the biggest complaints against the cheaper ones was the fit.

No wiring will be needed, the 7" OEM sealed beam lights use the same connector a standard H4 bulb uses. Plug and play.

Either way, be sure to properly adjust them, that is by far the most important part of the conversion.

I also have the Hellas.. but I'm not using the stock bulbs. I bought some $30 Eurolite's and I love it. The pattern from the hella casings is perfect. On the highway in the dark the low beams are so bright that I don't really need highbeams at all.

edit: Oh, and they are cheap too.. I think I paid $70 CDN or so for my set, and they come with bulbs.

IPF has a nice set,but get at www.slickcar.com, a lot less than most places and you can get a nice selection of h-4 bulbs at a good price.

I don't think they tested the e-codes. Or at least, they didn't mention... but IMO e-code is the only way to go!

i have the IPF e-codes with the x51 fatboys and and upgraded wiring harness.

for me, the harness is the most important aspect.

i am very happy with them and rarely use my high beams if you can believe it.

bought them at northridge4x4.com
