Guys with herculiner for 4+ years

How is it holding up? How bad does it fade? I'm about to do this in a week or so and was hoping to have someone post up a pic of a job that was done years ago. If you didn't sand down and prep correctly then don't bother posting in this thread. I could really care less if its fading (my carpet is dirty and FADED), but i don't want it peeling, flaking, etc. Thanks!!

I did mine 2 years ago and it's been holding up good. A The only spot that has worn through is where the rear seat meets the floor. Otherwise it's been awesome and totally worth it. Theres been no fading and no other wear spots, and i'm pretty tough on it. I'd definitely use it again. Just prep it really good, I brought mine down to bare metal in most spots and made sure all the rust was gone!

edit>>> I used Herc BTW

Do it right and do it once. Use Line-X. I have studied all the possibilites and you will not like herculiner. Looks good at first but after time Hope you can find pics of what your looking for. Good Luck!

Mine held up nicely. It faded a little on the tops of the fender wells where it gets strong sun, but I touch it up with black spray paint.

No peeling. In fact, this spring I found both front floors flooded with a couple inches of water from a seal leak and torential rains. It has probably been sitting all month like that and this isn't the first time. I popped the floor plugs to drain it and washed out some slime. The Herc protected the floorpans nicely. I put like three coats in there and I'm glad I did.

Just for your info ive got both on my jeep.My interior is herculined.so far its held up ok.My exterior tub and tube fenders are line-xed. There is no comparison to the linex.it hasnt faded or anything at all and looks 100 percent better. I wouldnt herculine anything that will see direct sunlight.just my 2 cents.

1 year this month, half of which have been no top subjected to the rain, snow, sun. no fading, no chipping, i throw all my supplies in the back no issues. for $89 it works just fine. persoanlly id rather spend the $500 for line X on something more important like lockers

How long have you had yours? Can you post pics of each? That would really help.

me too.

I could really care less what it looks like as long as it wont flake or peal. right now the metal is getting scratched. I might paint my roll bar and sound bar too. I removed the "pads" and its getting a bit scratched from the top going on and off. I put some gouges in the back when i was messing with the rear seat. Soo I'm just looking for some serious protection. I really wouldn't care if it turned white or brown as long as it holds up over the years.

if you had to redo your herculiner once every 2 years it would take atleast 10 years before you would be at the cost of linex

not when your time is worth $$$$. I won't do work for other people for less than $50/hr. I want something that won't peel or flake.

thats why you do the jop correct the first time. i have a total of 3 hours invested in my herc. jop, thats 3 hours of me and my jeep time, no screaming kids, no nagging wife, just me and my baby, you cant put a price tag on that

-yep allot of us have to earn jeep time the hard way.

-4 or so years on int. tub herc and its fine. gets sun, rain, and salt almost 365 days/yr. with no top on.

i agree the 500 can be used for something more functional.
