I'm pretty sure it is welded in.

If you have a/c,evacuate the a/c system.
Remove front crossmember cover
remove crossmember valance cover
remove cooling system redervoir
remove the bolts that secure the radiator and shroud to the grille panel
disconnect high and low pressure a/c lines
remove the radiator support rod to panel bolts
unplug electrical connectors to lights
remove fender to grille panel bolts
remove grille to frame mount bolt
detach the grille
simple huh

why would you have to dump the a/c? Sure looks to me like you can just unbolt everything and take the grill right off.

Just giving the repair manual removal instructions.I'm just being helpful, not pretending I've done it.

gotcha. nor have I.

Service manuals can be funny though.
For example on 22RE yotas, the books says to drain and remove the radiator for an oil pump install. Not necessary. Not even necessary for a water pump change, but worth it on saved knuckles if nothing else... The book also says to remove the crossmember to drop the trans. Not necessary and in fact easier not to, since the xmember straps to the tranny jack much more securely than the trans itself. Seen lots of that sort of thing over the years.
