grill inserts and grill removal?

I am going to tackle the grill inserts. I am going to buy gutter stuff from lowes and do it that way. $10 vs $190 its a no brainer. My question is I really do not want to remove the grill from the jeep it seems like a PITA. Has anyone done this without removing the grill? I have a 1997 tj. If I have to is there a good write up with picts I rather not though.

Why? It just restricts air flow and catches bugs and mud.

Are they not just plastic? Mine just pulled out. I hate those things... Useless and they just leave marks in the paint.

Edit: ohh you're trying to add them.. Don't do it.

I think he wants to put screen behind the grill.

if you are talking about putting it between the grill and the radiator, then you just need to undo the bolts holding the radiator in and the condenser move it back just enough to slide it in, the only other option is pull the whole grill off.

I cut down and used a screen door bottom protector made of aluminum from lowes. Just undid 2 bolts holding in the v shaped brace between the rad and front. Slid right in. Looks nice.
