Got 35's now what

Okay I just got 35's put on now what am I going to need to upgrade.

Currently have installed:

1.25 O.D tie rod
Brake magic pads & Rotors
Steering Stabilizer

I know I need to beef up the front D30 probably with chromolly shafts, my rears are good with D44's.

You really don't need to do anything. Might want to regear to 4:56 or 4:88. D30 will do just fine though unless you are wanting to do MAJOR crawlin'

Well, to get my power back I went with 4.56s in my 4.0 TJ. I too run 35's second set as a matter of fact. I can run 80 on the freeway if I want to. I would go at least 4.56s. I had 3.07s and 33's before (for over a year). God that sucked.

So my advice re-gear.

Sorry, I don't know much about LJs never really cared about them too much, not my thing. I have had my TJ since 2000, I don't research every little tidbit of what came with what from the factory.

You must get Chromo shafts in that D-30 or get full circle clips on those U-Joints. If you doing anything involving 4wd and driving off pavement 80% chance you will start spitting out U-Joint caps in a month or three or four. Otherwise your golden, unless you want to re-gear...which I'd highly recommend if you can swing it.

I have broken a D44 shaft with 35's and a locker, not getting crazy agressive, but there was some hopping.....

In my 10+ years of wheeling, I have never had this happen or have had anyone wheeling with me have this happen. Broken u-joint yes but caps flying off that have been installed correctly. No way. Don't waste the money on chromos. Get new gears first and see what you like to play in.

Stickers... Benderiff

Brakes, steering linkage, steering cooler or new box, gears, axle shafts f+r, tummy tuck.... That should get you started.

As of now I have 3.73s but going to upgrade to 4.56 I have 6spd tranny. I had the speedometer gear put in as well. I still have a slight vibration between 50-60 mph and this vibration also happened with my previous 33's as well. Its not balancing, my tierod is upgraded to the ZJ V8, bought new front pads and rotors as well.

Also what psi do I run the 35x12.50R15's in street. I currently have 30psi but it feels too hard over bumps.

Fair enough, it is a well known issue with d30 shafts that the yoke ears flex and pop the c clips off. All after market chromo's come with full circle clips for a reason, there are multiple threads about almost alloy kits and tac welding the caps of u-joints.

Besides if you are wheeling it moderately off road chromo shafts front and rear is very nice insurance. It just depends on what you wheel and how drive

I do 26 psi
