GenRights stretch gas tank

I am looking at the COMP model tank and can't decide if the 14.5 gal capacity is going to be enough? I really like the 7" stretch but is the 5" stretch tank with 19.5 gallon capacity going to be really that much better? I just don't want regret getting the smaller tank at each refill time. Any advice on which to use?

I just need to know is the extra 2" stretch worth the loss of 5 gallons of gas?

Well are you going to be using your rig as a DD or more of a trail only rig? When the time comes that I can make mine a trail only rig and I do a stretch I think that the 14.5 would be more than enough...guess its how far you plan on driving at any one time.

how much do you think it would cost to get a local shop to make a gas tank? i dont see it being anywhere near $800 but i also dont work in a metal shop.

I was also lookin at this tank buts it so expensive for it to just be a gas tank. Almost a grand, thats crazy.

You will need to comp cut your rear fenders for a 7" stretch. With the 5" you will be able to keep the back of your stock fenders in place.

Which do you want to do?

I already plan to use there Comp Cut rear fender guards and longer rocker guards as well. As for the price ($800) you also get a gas tank skid plate with that price so it's not as bad.

my 1999 came with the 14 gal tank, and I hate it. I wish every day I would have bought a Sahara instead of the Sport just for the 19 gal tank. The next year or a couple years later they put 19's in all. Grrrrrrrr.........

-hugs his 19 gal fuel tank that lights up when he has ~4 or 5 gallons left-

Is it not possible to buy a 19 gal tank from a junked TJ and swap it in? Or does it require fabbing work?
