Gear suggestions
What is the recommended gears for 37" tires? The Jeep that they are going on has a I6 and manual tranny. I was leaning more towards 5.13 vice 4.88 so please help!

I'd go with 5.13 if possible.
What front axle are you running? If it's a D30, 4.88 will be the lowest you can go.

Be wary of going to 37" tires, few parts on a TJ are up to handling that big of a tire. The front axle, ball joints, steering, etc. are all marginal for that size of tire. I'm running a Dana 44 with Superior Axle axleshafts, a Dana 30 with Warn hardened 4340 chromolly axleshafts, quality Spicer R&P gears, Currie steering kit, etc. and I won't run bigger than 35". My 4.88 gearing and lift height would easily allow me to run 37" tires, but I just ordered another set of 35" MT/R tires on Friday because I knew my TJ just isn't built enough to run 37" tires without excessive wear in the front-end. I considered 37" tires for nearly 3 seconds.

FYI, the 8.8 requires a modified cross shaft pin or you have to notch the ring gear to run gears this low. Just giving you a heads up in case you didn't know this. I found out when we were putting my 8.8 back together with 4.56 gears. The guys at the drivetrain shop I bought the gears from didn't even tell me! ![]()

I did not have to modify the cross shaft on my 8.8 when I went to 4.56 gears.

Since you have the 8.8 the lowest you can go is 5.13. Otherwise I would go to 5.38.

The ring gear did not get in the way, it was tight but it went right in.
