Gas filler tube/neck? fix

Newbie ???? Takes for ever to put gas in my TJ. Goes slow, keeps shutting off. Several of us have tried, is this problem inherent to this model, to California's restrictcions? Is there away to fix it? That is a 1/2 hr I could spend on the trail. Thanks for your help.

Make sure the neck is not bent or kinked. If not it must be the roll over valve.

Are you talking about the ball-check valve in the vent tube?...

I don't think thats a roll over valve, it just stops you from overfilling the tank.
The gas cap has a pressure valve in it that prevents spillage...

If I try to fill mine with the pump at full squeeze, it'll just click. What I do is squeeze it lightly (less than 1/2) for the first gallon or so, and then usually it'll let me go full squeeze from then on. Might be my imagination, but the closer to empty my tank is, the more "1/2 squeeze" I need to do, sometimes the first 2 gallons.

My mustang has the same quirk, guess I've just gotten used to it. For mine, it only takes another minute or so to fill up, so I've not bothered to try and see if there's a fix. yours is taking 1/2 an hour? wow, haha!

I have the same problem. Some gas pumps are worse than others. Some pumps work well if I only Squeeze the nozle half way, others I have to rotate the nozle to make it work without clicking off. I think it has something to do with the Vapor Recovery System that the gas nozle uses. I've just left several gas stations with like 1/4 of a tank because I didn't want to mess with the clicking issue.

Instead of jamming the nozzle all the way, pull it about half way out.

Works for me.

I guess it is just slow then. Nothing appears to be wrong, if I fill with gas can, goes fast. No it is not really 1/2 hr, but it sure feels like it. lol Thanks everyone for your help. I am sure I will be talking to you all again.
