this may be off topic...but,anyone out there have any problem w/the fumoto drain valve??i've had one on my p/u fot 8 years w/o incident. i put one on my tj and low and behold if i didnt bust the damn thing off on a rock. put an Nth degree OPS on since and went back to my old plug. luckily i still had the old plug in my onboard tool box and someone to run me up to advanced for dino juice.

If you had the skid when the drain valve was installed, would it have been protected or does it still stick out past the skid? Just wondering because I have the Nth skid and was thinking that the valve is a good idea. I was just a little worried about damage from off-roading.

Love mine! Makes changing oil with the engine skid on real easy.

I just changed my oil for the first time with my fumoto. It's the first time I didn't drip a single drip of oil on the floor

Fumoto

I just installed a the Skid Row ops and purchased a Fumoto valve for the next oil change. After reading this I must admit I'm a little worried about installing it. I too would like to know if anyone has busted one with a skid installed?

Thanks,

E

I have one with the Skidrow Engine/oil skid without problems. Makes changing the oil a breeze. I will say that I also have the Nth Degree TT so the angle is a little differant then with the stock skid. Right now the Fumoto drain tube is only 1/2" above the skid. I guess a perfect hit could get it.

I used to used the fram suredrain. Its the same concept, but ended up taking it off because it doesnt allow all the sediment that collects on the bottom to drain out.

Wrong app for that valve, it will stick out a good inch with that skid, most people that run that valve use an engine skid (which I would recommend over OPS to protect the bellhousing). With an engine skid the valve is a1/2" above the skid, so it can't be hit by rocks.

My fram valve is well above and protected by my nth degree oil pan skid. The fram valve does drain REAL SLOW. I pop the hose on and into a bucket and walk away for 10 minutes.

Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil, that true love never dies. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in.
