Fuel Tank Options for stretch or more room

I'm looking to gain some more room under rear end. For now for rocks and later a stretch.

I would like a genright tank, but that's more money than I want to spend so I'm debating a fuel cell.

My idea is to put one behind the rear seat but recess it into the floor where the bottom of the tank is roughly even with the frame rails. I'm also going to build a box around it so that it helps to seal out any fumes.

What all needs to be done to do this.
tank, fuel lines, is it possible to retrofit the factory pump?, steel for a custom skid, something to reinforce the rear frame where it a cross member may need to be taken out.

I know I would lose storage, but I would gain room underneath the jeep. The rear seat hasn't been in over a year and my spare tire has been in its place. I want to be able to run a back seat if I need to.

Any thoughts or ideas.

RC2161A. Get some rings for your pump from K.O.R.E. They also sell an install kit with SS lines.

Genright also has fuel cell rings.

Technically RCI 2161a. This is the fuel cell most people swap in behind the rear seat. 15 gallons.

so I could get the RCI tank and then a ring and it would bolt up to the factory pump with extensions?

It can't be that easy.

I can't remember where I saw it but:

Someone posted a write-up for re-using the factory 19 gal. fuel tank, pump, etc. They cut a hole in the floor of the TJ's cargo area and raised the stock gas tank up enough that it poked about halfway through the floor. Then they fabbed up some mount system for the stock skid/straps to attach to either the body or chassis.

If you don't mind cutting your body it seems this would be an economical way to go. Not to mention you'd get a fairly large gas tank vs. the 15 gal fuel cells.

That would work, or I could even just put the tank in the back of the jeep, but I want to be able to run a back seat too.
