Fuel Injector cuts out with downhill or hard braking

I just got back from a trip to Colorado to run some trails. On the trip I discovered my number 4 fuel injector (according to the code: P0204) is lazy. On a steep downhill it quits working. Same thing if I brake hard on the street.

Any thoughts on what causes that?

Swap it with a different fuel injector and note if the problem follows the fuel injector or stays at the same #4 location.

When you have a choice, buy American made.

Will do. I was hoping this might be a known issue (even though search didn't find any results).

Not long ago I tested all the injectors manually and used the test light on the wiring. The challenge is the injector works fine most of the time. Which makes it extra hard to diagnose.

Going down a steep hill or during braking the PCM can switch to deceleration mode which cuts fuel. This is normal. As suggested start by swapping the injector to another cylinder.
