Registered User | Just for clarity, do you mean the alternative fuel device for use with hydrogen, or a large gas tank? __________________ Steve Minister of Propaganda |

Registered User | For a TJ, most people go with the setup that I run. Get this fuel cell: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=RCI%2D2161A&N=700 +115&autoview=sku Then cut a hole in the top of the fuel cell and buy this ring kit: http://www.kore4x4customs.com/asccustompages/products.asp?fpage=1&categoryID=15&productID=4&car tID=384547451 It allows you to use your stock sending unit and comes with a gasket for the cell. Then you just exented your fuel lines using some 5/16" FUEL INJECTION line and extend the wires for the power to the pump. Use one of the bungs on top of the cell to attach to your stock charcoal canister or just run a tube up high on your roll bar and you are done. Here is what it looks like installed before I ran my breather line to the charcoal canister and before I mounted to the jeep: ![]() __________________ 1999 Jeep TJ on 1 tons (OLDER) 2003 Jeep Rubicon (OLD) 2008 Jeep Unlimited X (NEW) |

si vis pacem para bellum | Just one more sound in the jeep. Probably going to do this to help my departure angle (skids getting pretty dented) and I would like to strech it in the future anyway. __________________ 2006 Liberty build in progress (10,000lbs receiver winch, 2.5" lift, 31s, etc) 2009 compass |

Registered User | I might be wrong, I'm sure I'll be corrected quickly, a fuel cell has a type of foam in it that will break down over time, possibly clogging the filter. Also, it won't pass many state inspections. __________________ Stockish 04 Rubicon, slowly but surely sneakin stuff by the wife to make my Jeep unique. I'm with the other guy - want a challenge? I don't think all of them have the foam. I have heard the ones with foam will deteriorate over time, but I guess a fuel filter would help eliminate problems. __________________ Tyler BRIGHT SILVER METALLIC TJ Claytoned, Locked, and 36s. si vis pacem para bellum | good to know, and not too worried about inspections. We only have to get them when ownership changes (unless I get pulled over and get some flack about it). But its going to be hard to notice even if I do get pulled over. That and its eventually going to be trailered __________________ 2006 Liberty build in progress (10,000lbs receiver winch, 2.5" lift, 31s, etc) 2009 compass |
