Front swaybar disconnects

IWe are getting into the major part of the jeep build and have hit a front swaybar disconnect snag. On an 04 TJ with RE 5 1/2 longarm lift for BFG 35x12.5 MT's, what's the best swaybar disconnect out there? The Jeep is my DD and on road handling comes first with off roading second, though I plan to get into more of this as time/job allows. I was looking at an air powered system (can't remember the brand off hand) but there seems to be a little manufcturing snafu with it and now I am looking for a replacement. In your opinions, what's the best disconnect out there? I've heard Teraflex mentioned as pretty good. Any experience with that or any other good system is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe

The Teraflx is nothing more than a glorified expensive quick disconnect system. It performs no differently than any other quick disco system when it's disconnected.

What I went for outperforms a disconnected swaybar and it does fine on the highway too... and my TJ is my daily driver. Go with Currie's Antirock Antiswaybar system and you'll never have to mess with disco'ing again. It sells for about the same cost of Tera's do-nothing glorified quick disco antiswaybar.

Thanks for the reply. I knew about Currie, but I thought they were for off road only and not recommended for on road. I plan on doing alot of highway driving with this Jeep as it is my DD to and from work. Thanks again, Joe

JKS quicker discos are the most favored discos out there. I plan on running mine till the Rok-n-lok from Full traction hits the market and gets some reviews.

Sounds like these are all basically the same type of kits - knob to unlock and they relock when level? All are pretty reasonable so if I don't like one or something else comes out that's better, it's not that big of a deal to change. I'll check out JKS. Thanks, Joe

Always check the for sale section of the forum! I found a great deal on a set from teraflex disco's brand new! I would rather help a fellow jeeper then buy from the store if I can.

No the Rok-n-lok is different as it is a dual rate sway bar. In one setting you run on the firm factory type bar for the street and the other is a flexable setting kinda like the antirock for offroad. Nothing on the market like this at present. It is kinda like the best of both worlds. Downside is the price is said to be around $500. There was another like this out last year called the swayloc by Offroad Only, differance being it was air operated. They are no longer made. The Rok-n-lok will be cable controlled from in cab.

Did I mention my Antirock-equipped TJ was my daily driver too? 120K miles on my Antirock (164K miles total on my TJ) and I still love Currie's Antirock. Whoever said Currie's Antirock is for offroad use only doesn't own one.

I REALLY like the idea of installing and forgetting. But the Currie website even says there will be more body roll. How much I don't know, but evidently not much if you like it this much. I'm also getting a tri-link rear which adds even more to the body roll. The 5 1/2" lift will be brought back down with aftermarket bumpers and winch, but I just don't want to get too sloppy on road. Let me know what you think - Currie and tri-link = OK?
