Front Relocation Bracket

3 Attachment(s)
I went to use my JKS quick discos and it seems the shop I took my jeep to recently installed a relocation bracket for the steering stabilizer and connected the track bar where the steering stabilizer was. (I was getting adjustable front track bar installed) It prevents me from being able to disconnect my sway bar on the passenger side. Anyone ever heard of this? I am calling to get it fixed Monday. Pics below

that is the skyjacker adjustable track bar kit.

well it doesn't work with the jks discos. i have to take the bracket off and mount the track bar where it was originally. thanks.

do you still have your stock track bar?

jeepxguy_02 06-27-2010 01:09 AM

No. I am calling the guy that did it and he will have it fixed. Didn't pay him to do this BS. lol So he can fix it.

adjusting an adjustable track bar isnt all that hard to do by yourself.
that skyjacker kit is one of the more expensive kits out there. thats probably why he put it on your TJ.
good luck.

So you can take off the bracket and just bolt the skyjacker track bar in its original location below the axle? If so it I might just take a trip to ACE hardware to get some new bolts and re-mount it myself. Thanks again.

im confused. why would you need this bracket? it doesnt look like you've changed your steering geometry, so relocating the track bar mount is a really bad idea. and better yet, why would you pay someone else to install a track bar. its only two bolts and a jam nut. front track bars are very easy to install, the only crazy items you need are a BFH and torque wrench. you dont even need to lift the jeep off the ground.

no. it is shorter than the stock one. that is why i asked if you still had it.

because the SJ TB mounts in the stock SS location.

jeepinmichguy_ 06-27-2010 12:38 PM

those disco's are easy.

I bet it comes with a nice drop pitman arm as well. Raising the axle end of the trac-bar and lowering the frame side of the drag link. This will cause bumpsteer and is not a good idea.

yes, i can see that.

the question is why? why would this be favorable? why add more brackets and geometry changes when you don't have to? why create interferences when there is no reason to? (Whether that be JKS, or SS, or extra bumpstop height needed to clear at full stuff)
