Hey, was hoping someone could help me with some easy questions that I couldn't find in the owner's manual.
1) how much fluid goes into a Dana 44 and a Dana 35
2) How much tranny fluid into the 6spd manual and what does everyone recommend since I'm towing a trailer most of the year
It's for a 2005 Unlimited
THANKS!

Kind of confused why you want to know about a D44 and D35 but here is a write up on how to change your diff fluid with a D30 and D44. Have Fun!!!

The D30 (I assume you made a typo) should hold 2.5 pints and the 44 holds 4 pints, however when filling them up you should just fill them up until the fluid starts coming out of the drain hole. When it starts coming out you have the correct amount.
It's still good to know the amount they will hold so you can make sure you have enough, my rule of thumb is with a D30 and either D44 or D35 in the rear 1 gallon will do both diffs.
Don't know anything about the 6spd..

Thanks for the info on the diffs. I meant to say Dana 30 so thanks for being on top of things for me. I know how to change them. Anyone out there have any info on the 6spd and a recommendation on what to put in because I remember there being a discrepancy about snychromesh and redline, etc in the 5spd.

For the NSG370 6-speed manual trans... straight fron DCSNet:
MANUAL TRANSMISSION
NOTE: DaimlerChrysler recommends using Mopar® lubricants or lubricants of equal quality.
NSG370 - Mopar® Manual Transmission Lubricant MS-9224
The discrepancy was with the old AX-5 or AX-15 trans... According to Stu:

First, I love you for all the information
Second, what does "NSG370 - Mopar® Manual Transmission Lubricant MS-9224" convert to in terms of gear oil or doesn't it? If I were to go into the store to buy fluid, what should I be looking for other than that it meets the above Mopar spec?
I want to put in something really good since I'm always hauling a trailer and want this transmission to last damn near forever. Looking for a recommendation and I know everyone loves to give their opinion on here

Dcs?
I have all the info I need about fluid types and level.
The search is what got me to this thread since it doesn't appear to be currently active.
I was just curious about the term "DCS net", and what it is or means.
That was my question.
Thanks

Jeepster83, your link lists the amount for an NFG, I mean, NSG 370, but not the type or what is equivalent. I read somwhere that Redline Oil MTL is a, better than original, substitute.

Actually, I should have said DealerConnect. It's one of the online dealer tools. I always mix it up with DCSnet from our other car line.

You can use Amsoil's MTF Syncromesh fluid. It is a 100% synthetic. here is a link... http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?z...storefront/mtf
