Flat towing an 06' TJ

What issues will I have flat towing an 06', 4.0, 6spd manual. I assume it's best to tow with the TC and Trany in neutral. What about the steering? Since it's only pull/push on the hitch I would think a class III would be fine on the pick-up.

I know it's not as good as a trailer but it's better than driving long distance with camping gear etc. or taking 2 vehicles.

tranny in a forward gear, TC in neutral, key ON (so the steering wheel isnt locked)

That is according the the manual.

..ofcourse if tis camping gear why nto tow a little trailer behind the TJ, or get one of the racks for it.

Just make sure you don't turn the key one click too far, which would allow the ignition and accessories to be on, and potentially run the battery down.

Put in the key and turn it 1 click forward, it will unlock the steering wheel but wont turn anything (and wont rack mils either)
