First time jeep owner and new to the forums with some questions

Hi guys,
I've been looking around the forum for a few days and just picked up a TJ yesterday.
Now my question is, this jeep i bought has aftermarket wheels and tires so it does seem a bit higher than usual, but is there any easy way to tell if it's had any kind of suspension or body lift?

Thanks in advance!

Take some pics and give tire size and we can tell you.

This.
Also, is there a noticeable gap between the body and frame? Are there spacers on the springs? How big are the tires? You can also measure the springs, anything over 12" front and 8" rear is lift.

Hey guys thanks for your replies. The tire size is 31x10.50R15 and I took some pictures but i'm thinking that based on the replies its at stock ride height.

TJs I've heard can go to 31"s without a lift kit.

If someone stuck a body lift on your TJ, you would see pucks/shims between the frame and tub

Yep, stock suspension. Not stock wheels, though. Take a look the "sticky" posts at the top of the forum page, particularly "What does my TJ look like with ? lift" and "Stock TJ Specifications." Those will answer most of your initial questions.

Sorry about the late reply. TJs I don't think come stock w/31" tires. My 98TJ sport has 28"
I'm saving up for 31s.

They can fit 31s stock though.

Unless it came with the tire upgrade many TJ's were 28 or 29 by 9.5 x15. My Sahara came with 30x9.5x15 with the Canyon Wheel package. I also though that some of the Rubi's came stock with 31x10.5x15's.

All TJR came with 245/75R16 GY MTR mounted on 16x8 Moab alloy wheels.

I run 32"x11.5"s on my stock 98 TJ and have no rubbing problems whatsoever.
