First Jeep. Family is asking what I want for Christmas. :)
I just got my first Jeep about 3-4 weeks ago and my family is wondering what I want for Christmas. As far as little things, what would you recommend for the Jeep. I want to be ready for off-roading although I won't be doing any rock climbing enough to brag about. I want my Jeep to last as long as possible. I don't have much time. I've already suggested a 20,000# snatch strap and a insert for the 2" hitch that holds the D-ring. What else should I need?

A cover that covers the jeep when you have the top off.
Tire Cover. Light bar. Seat covers. I hope my family is lurking. |

Skids are definately good. The recovery strap and hitch with D-ring is very good. Also just for little things, maybe some handles to strap on the rollbar, duster cover, KC lights or somethings like that.

If you have a soft top you will need a window roll bag!

Smaller things - GearNetz, roll bar grab handles, recovery strap, gauge faces, better speakers, tow hooks, disconnects, shift knob, "jeep thing" windshield decal,
Bigger things - winch, rocker guards, diff armor, gas tank skid (and other armor,) Hurst shifter, lighting upgrades, aftermarket bumpers, lift, steering upgradess, wheels and tires, gears and lockers and for your other car a licence plate frame that says "My other car is a Jeep. It's in the shop." <just kidding!><sort of> |

If there's any time you want to lock up small items in your jeep, a Tuffy glove box, or counsel insert. Or a larger box for in the back.

This will pay for it's self many times over. Read threads about oil pan dents.
http://www.quadratec.com/products/12022_702_07.htm Not the strongest on the market but the one I have had for 2 years has saved me many times.

All that armor and protection on a bone stock rig? Just have to ask why? Unless one would take a stock jeep on rocks big enough to need skids and get stuck for the hell of it…just a thought.
Wouldn’t it be better to start off with a moderate budget lift? Maybe cough up some cash and get a set of medium size madders? Just my opinion.

Starting off with your new Jeep, you will probably appreciate soft upper and lower doors when it gets warmer. Use mine on the rare occasion it rains here in the summer, and I don't have the full stell doors on.

|
Phone conversation yesterday.
Him: Hey, what's wrong with your seats? Me: Nothing, why? Him: I'm at (some 4x4 store) and the bestop seat covers you want for christmas are going to cost me close to 400.00 with tax. There's NOTHING wrong with your seats? Me: They're ugly. Long pregnant pause........ Okay, now I'm thinking.....400 bucks and a bit more could buy me some sweet tires. Him: Why don't I get you some nice jewellery or something? ARGH
