Firing order diagram?

Was replacing the wires and cap and wouldn't you know it, got distracted and got the wires all messed up. I can't seem to find a diagram. Can anyone help me with this? The hood is up as I type this. I guess I need the order on the engine AS WELL AS the diagram on the cap. I know where 1 is.. but that's it.

BTW.. it's a 99 Sport.

What about the order on the block? First from the front is 1... is 2 next or does it skip to 3? I'm lost.

They're in order. #1 is nearest the radiator, #6 is at the rear nearest the firewall.

It wasn't there yet when he asked his first and he probably still had my first answer up when he asked his subsequent follow up question. So he probably didn't see your diagram in time Stu.

That was exactly it. Had your post up while watching the game and tinkering with the cap.

Thanks! You guys rock! And, changing the wires, cap, and rotor seems to have taken care of my sputtering problem. I'll know more when I give it a good 10 minute drive.

Wow, I guess the engine was running like crap for awhile because it feels like I'm driving a new Jeep now that I've replaced the wires, dist, and rotor. It had gotten really bad over the last few days, but must have been going downhill for awhile without me really noticing.

Thanks for the assist!
