Finally finished my LED tailights! (pics)

Here are the pics of my new LED Tailights. I got the LED's Tailights, the side marker lights (you can't see in the pics) and the license plate lights from Mesa 4x4. I also added some 55watt (a piece) reverse lights that I had to wire through a relay so I wouldn't fry my factory wires but they are still hooked up to the factory wires as a switch so they turn on when I put it in reverse. Thanks for all the help. Stu's writeups helped me out alot on this project.

I like it. Where are these writeups you're talking about? Seems like it could be a fairly cheap mod, just time consuming. How much did you spend in total? And what kind of rear bumper is that?

http://www.stu-offroad.com/led/led-1.htm for the LED tailight and side marker light install.

Well, the cost was a more than I thought it would end up being. The tailights were $50, side marker lights $12, License plate lights $22 (the real kind that aim down and not straight out), 2 1/4 hole saw bit with attachment $25. So around $115 with shipping

Check out my sig, my bumper is from http://www.stevesjeepfab.com/

Hey tweba,

Looks good...I'm hoping to do this soon as well. Did you use a jig saw to cut out the hole for your taillights as Stu did? I'm wondering if I could use a hole saw for this. What size hole did you need for your 4" LEDs?

I used a jigsaw. You can use a hole saw for this. It will need to be a 4.25 hole saw.

can people see the license plate at night? that doesn't look like it would put out much light

(psst, if ya take night pics with flash off the brightness of the leds and you can actually see the license plate lights, they come out better)

I like those reverse lights, where'd ya get them?

My b/f installed his a few weeks ago:

Yeah, the license plate lights light the license plate up very well. Just as good as the factory lights did with the clear bottom on the driver's side tailight. I left the flash on because you couldn't see my Jeep if I turned it off and people wanted to see where the lights were mounted on my Jeep

I got the reverse lights from Walmart for $25. They work great!
