Final gear question???????
I dont want to keep beating a dead hoarse here fellas, but I am in the process of ordering from Rustys a package unit special, front and rear ring and pinion set along with the kit that comes with them. and before I do give me you opinion and I do mean good opinion on what gear ratio I would be happy with . Like I said before I have a 2002 TJ with auto with 35in tires it now has 373 in it. Before I bought this rig I test drove a 2001 that had 35in with 488. and on the hiway I was looking for another gear, it was a automatic also. I could not imagine driving that over a long trip. And I am wanting to know which would be the way to go 410 or 456. now I am not a rock crawler, unless I had one to may white russians while fishing on a river bank, I hunt alot and am on hiway 50% of time for short distances , lets say less than 25 miles both ways from work. so what say you gentelmen...on final answer...thanx and Happy New year to all!!

PM IGOFSHN, he has 35" tires and the same 3-speed automatic tranny as you do. I THINK he's happily running 4.10 but I can't remember if it's that or 4.56 for sure.

Between 4.10 and 4.56, I'd choose 4.56. This is what I run and I'm pretty happy with it.
RPMs will be 3,200 @ 70 mph with 4.56 which is perfectly fine. I'm not so sure that paying to reagear from 3.73 to 4.10 would be worth it. Going to 4.56 would be a more noticeable improvement.
