Fiberglass Hood

I got whacked the other day by a kid throwing a full soda can out a school bus window.
It damaged my hood and windshield. The School District agreed to pay for the damages.
I'm looking for a fiberglass vented hood and can't find it. I think I saw it in a Quadratec magazine?

Hmm...I'm going to slash my tires and take a hammer to the wheels and say some kid did it before he got on the bus.

The Skunk needs some black steelies and 32's

I got the 'Max Air Ram Air Hood' from www.carhoods.com, I'm pretty darn happy with it, I've noticed a substantial decrease in intake air temp with it (at least according to my scan gauge. It seems prices have increased a bit since when I got mine I paid ~400.00 for it.

You will have to open the air port(s) yourself, they are shipped solid. They have a number of styles, one should fit your bill of being fiberglass with vents. I've linked a couple below:

What I have:

This is a new one:

Thanks Knightfire, This hood had a vent at the front and created a vacuum to keep the engine compartment cooler. The guy that invented it did several air flow studies.
I could have sworn I saw a write-up on this forum.

No worries
The hood I have is vented in the front (1st pic shown), much like any 'ram air' hood. It sounds like your looking for something very specific...besides a basic vented fiberglass hood...hope your able to find it!

well it's not a fiberglass hood but it's a little info on the heat spots on the hood

http://www.oman4x4.com/hoodvents.htm

There's also the AEV hood with the vaccume, but it's not fiberglass either

http://www.oman4x4.com/aevhood.htm Qtec sells it too.

is it just me or is OMAN4x4's jeep the one in Qtec's ad?

I like the high hood. There arn't any coverage laws here, but everything would be thrown up on your jeep while on the street. That and I would catch the "fender" on a tree and rip it apart. The local shop has two in stock They are pretty good quality
