FELPRO intake/ exhaust gasket

Has any body else had problems with the felpro intake/exhaust gasket not matching up well with the exhaust ports on there 4.0l? The one i bought matched all bolt holes and matched the intake ports perfect. Didn't matter which way it was flipped unlike a OEM gasket the sides aren't marked and they don't give you any directions. So i decided to try and trim it and after i put it together i have a small exhaust leak on one port and it's bothering me. I would like to fix it, I'm thinking of just getting a OEM gasket. Has anybody else had this problem? After a month of listing to it I'm ready to fix it.

Thanks

Fill out your profile first. Fel-Pro make good gaskets. I've used them, OEM, and Banks exhaust gaskets. Never had a problem with them leaking. It is a PITA! to seal an exhaust manifold gasket because of the small amount of room but it can be done.. an tightened so it doesn't leak.Your leaking is due to cracking at the collectors on headers in most situations, not the gasket at head if it was properly torqued.

Unless it has been marked for head side and manifold side, line that gasket up on all holes and ports just to save you the headache.Good luck!

I also have a 99, and ran into the same problem. Get a gasket for a 98 Wrangler and it will fit like it should. You should never have to trim a gasket like that.

Ya but a 1998 has a different intake and my 1999 has the newer style intake. Well this is the gasket i bought at napa today part number# MS 93094 FELPRO. Can anybody verify this is the right gasket going by napa's website it is ,my vin number for the engine is S. The 1998 does have a different part number it's MS94790 . So if this doesn't line up maybe that's what i need. Does anybody know what head casting goes to what gasket?

Thanks.
