Flat skid $130 (actually 3/4"drop) Made a huge difference over the stock shovel.
but.... like most mod's theres other cost's to make things correct "Transfer case shifter bracket, 1" body lift, SYE, adjustable control arms, and new drive shaft for this one" so maybe a little more than $500 for this one

For me, I would say my engine skid provided a lot of piece of mind in the rocks.

I got a Warn winch that way too for $400. No box, but everything there.

You can do probably do 80% of the trails in your state in a stock Wrangler (31s or less), if you just have a front Aussie and Sway Discos. That'll run you maybe $450 in parts if you do the work yourself. And you can do all that using good aired-down AT tires, not MTs.

You can probably do 90% of the trails in a stock Wrangler w/ATs in say, So.Cal., if you throw in a front and rear Aussie + sway discos and don't mind a lot of banging on the rocks. You'll probably blow an axle or do other damage to the drive-train or under-carriage at some point, which would bring a whole new set of costs. But even so, you'd gain a ridiculous amount of capability for what would probably amount to $700 bucks worth of the aforementioned parts.

Heres one that allways gets people going, but I guaranty you will use it every time you drive your Jeep. A short throw shifter. It makes it more fun to drive adds a bit of bling and is less than $300. I just installed a Hurst on my NV3550 and think its great.

Terk XMDirect module, $69. Plugs in back of the radio and makes the Sirius ready factory HU play XM. Wife loves it.

Second best mod has been power door locks, under $100, cheaper that trading it in for a new Wrangler, haha.

Worst mod so far, Edge Trail Jammer, module connectors don't fit, TB makes noise, a lot of hassle for a "simple bolt on" and no weekend support. I think it qualifies, module and TB are under $500.

He's prob one of the few (or many?) that got them for $74 a piece when the Sam's Club in Columbia SC had a misprint on the website. ( Actually I dont think it was there fault but the corp minds who handle the website. ) I for one was one of the lucky even though it took a lot of phone calls to get it honored.

A good mod I did was an I Pod wired hook up.Totally no performance gain but most of the trails have no reception and a CD would not last.

I'm in the same situation too since lifting my TJ...
I've been looking at a few rear bumpers with 2" reciever and tire carrier...
I would much rather have my 33" spare outside than taking up what little room there is on the inside...
RRC has some for around $350-$475 depending where you look...
Also, A decent SYE and cv shaft seems to be around the $500 mark...

Jerry, I haven't done any searching yet and yes I will try, but maybe you could do a write up on this and post some pictures. I am sure this is something lots of people would be interested in. Just a thought.
