I'm sorry to see you ran into issues, but that was a great photo journal of the process, I really appreciate you going through the work of taking them and posting them, Drag.
No problem, it's sort of a hobby

I almost look forward to something wearing out or breaking so I have another project. I think my wife would like it if I just bought a new Jeep.

I spoke with Tony from Jeepsareus yesterday and it looks like the diagram in the instruction is not quite right...meaning the pin numbers are correct, but the drawing shows the pins from the wrong side of the plug.

One wire color is different in the engine plug, but it looks like I should be OK. Tried to inspect the wiring behind the battery for the extra plugs the overlay harness would have used, but I did not see anything.

He also hed a leather-wrapped replacement steering wheel and was able to ship it out yesterday for me.

I wouldn't necessarily scratch cruise control from your list. I would however test the water with your steering wheel before ordering it.

Remove the steering wheel nut and spray the splined fit with PB Blaster for a week before even attempting to put a puller on it. Make sure your puller bolts are not bent and are seated firmly in the pockets and likely, you would not have any problems.

I would not let my experience scare anyone, rather learn from it and overcome the issues I had before it goes that far.

I am only a click away from ordering this kit... But for $500 I'm paying for it I really want to make sure it can be installed on my 2000 TJ Sahara.

My concern is that my Jeep is euro specs.. can anyone advice me if this kit will work on my jeep or is it just for US Wranglers??

Thanks

97-99 will have to replace the airbag to support the cruise control buttons. This is included in the kit.
However, if I remember correctly there is a 50/50 chance that the kit will not work. It has something to do with PCM.

I ended up installing a hand throttle and it works great as a DIY cruise control

As far as I can see, I'm prewired for cruise control, and since I started following this thread about two years ago I've managed to buy all the extra parts necessary, but I didn't get the miniharness with any of the parts, so now I have everything from the servo and vacuum hose to the switches, but not the miniharness from the clockspring to the switches, and apparently it's not listed as a separate part... And nobody seems prepared or able to make me one. I guess the connectors are proprietary and a little hard to come by.
