Ok gang,
Thinking about pulling the trigger on an or-fab tire carrier. What's your take? lj

I've heard good things about these! If that's what you like, go for it! Good luck!

Looks really nice, thats for sure. Rather pricey but looks worth it. I like how you don't need to attach it to a bumper and thats the reason I ended up with the Bestop. I would never use the can mounts on the OR Fab so the Bestop was the next best and I can't say enough good things about it and run it on my two jeeps. If you aren't going to use the can mounts or go over 35s I'd say check out the Bestop. Otherwise that OR fab looks killer and my experience with their stuff is good.

Have had the bestop on two Jeeps and its worked flawless and very solid. The OR Fab was my next choice.I think the OR Fab is bomb proof and the bestop is more than enough for 33s.

OR-Fab comes in a non-can mount also. I'm also a happy OR-Fab user. |

I know two guys that run the OR-FAB tire/jerry can carriers on their rigs, and i've heard nothing but the highest praise from them. I'd definitely give em two

Does anyone have any pictures of the non can carrier? How far does it stick off the back. Also how far does the can version stick off the back? I'm still debating whether I should go with the non can or the can version and build a storage box back there as I probably won't use the cans.

That looks nothing like my ORF carrier, it looks like a cheap knockoff that unbelievably uses the OE tailgate hinge brackets to support its weight from.

Question about the passenger side bottom interior bracket:
I found the install instructions online. I know about the top interior bracket. I'm concerned with the bottom. From what I can tell, there is just a small flat bracket behind the large exterior bracket on the bottom. Is that really the only bracket at the bottom? The way the install pictures suggest is that it just helps keep the bolts from pulling through the tub, but it doesn't appear to offer anything in the way of countering the forces pushing into the tub (like the Bestop lower interior bracket). Or does that huge exterior bracket play that role? It still seems like it's just pushing on sheetmetal at the bottom though. Then again, maybe all the weight is really carried by the top hinge anyway? I'm not second guessing the quality or experience you folks have with this carrier, I just need the details! ![]() |

The non-jerry can version is about 6.5" closer to the tailgate, the thickness of a Blitz style jerry can.
