Exhaust Stud Woes
I'm almost done putting on my new exhaust manifold. Somewhere along the way I lost one of the nuts for the two studs at the front and rear. Nothing I had laying around seemed to fit very well, so I took the nut off the back to Home Depot to see what size I had. (3/8",fine thread) I came home and tried to put the new nut on and it's threads and the threads of the stud became stripped. The nut will turn a few turns and then spins free on the stud. How can I fix this, and if I have to take it somewhere for repairs am I safe to drive it with one of the studs unsecured? Thanks!

A 3/8 fine (20 thread?) die out of a tap and tie set will re-thread the stud if it's not stripped too badly.
