exhaust pipe size

I am putting on a different muffler on my '02 X and when I was under there with my tape measure it sure looks like a 2.50" pipe. From what I have been reading in the forums, you all are saying that the exhaust pipe is 2.25". Either I cant measure or my pipe is actually 2.50 " I am going to have a muffler shop cut after the cat and insert the new one. I am probably going with this model flowmaster 952447. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33636
