Engine took in some water

Yesterday me and some friends were off roading around some creeks. Being a little foolish I entered a creek that was about 2 feet deep a little fast. Engine cut out instantly, and I was pulled out within a minute. Once the Jeep was on dry land I removed the air filter cover, and the air filter was wet. Removed the whole air intake fitting and found some more water inside the engine where the air enters. (Correct name for this part completely slipped my mind :P) Anyways I sucked all that water out with a long straw, then pulled the plugs. Cranked the engine over till water stopped coming out, reassembled everything and it started right up. Had no choice but to drive it home (70km) Ran perfectly fine the whole time. I did have a check engine light up until I hit the gas station and turned the rig off. Ive checked the oil via dip stick and it looks normal. Going to do an oil change tonight as I am due for one anyways. Next week I will be replacing all the fluids in the transfer case, transmission, and the differentials. (would do it now, but I am truly broke, and everything feels/sounds fine. Jeep has 130 000 on it, figure new fluids wont hurt. Anything else I should do/ keep an eye on. The way I see it now, I got lucky.

Sounds like you did everything right. Also sounds like the engine just stalled out. If you bent a rod I would imagine it would have been noticeable on the drive home.

Yea its been drove about 100km since the flood. Everything seems to be fine. Just want to be safe and change out fluids. Plan on swapping the oil and changing it out in 1000km just to be safe.

Lesson: NEVER enter water fast. You can ford deep water without damage, but not by ramming it.

Just bumping to try and get some more input on this. If this was your rig would you do anything else? Might as well add the water was just up to the bottom of the door on the drivers side, passenger side (where the intake is) was sitting about 6 inches higher.
